Unit Birwelco secures contract for waste heat recovery units through Foster Wheeler Energy Limited for BP

Unit Birwelco has recently been awarded a contract for the supply of replacement Waste Heat Recovery Units as part of the Enhanced Gas Separation Project at BP's Kinneil Terminal in Grangemouth.

The project, which will be handled by Unit Birwelco’s Halesowen site, is part of the debottlenecking of the Forties Pipeline System crude degasification facilities at the Kinneil terminal. The work, which is expected to take 14 months to complete, will allow the terminal to handle high gas-to-oil ratio unstabilised crude oils and natural gas liquids.

The work will be completed in two phases in 2012 and involves the creation of four modules that are to be supplied to the client as fully modularised units for ease of installation on site.

The incoloy tube bundles meet the requirements of upgraded design conditions and future operating cases.

Engineering work is currently well advanced at Birwelco's Halesowen office, where the project team is working with Foster Wheeler Energy Limited and BP Exploration Operating Company Limited to deliver a successful project for completion this December.
